September 26, 10:00–16:00, University of Cyprus, Nicosia
The Lithuanian Community in Cyprus, Lithuanian Embassy in Greece, and the Community of Ukrainian-Cypriot Friendship are proud to announce the second Civil Resistance Forum, taking place on 26 September 2025 at the University of Cyprus in Nicosia.
This year’s forum brings together diplomats, academics, journalists, and civil society leaders from Cyprus, Lithuania, and Ukraine to address some of today’s most pressing challenges: disinformation, hybrid warfare, and threats to democratic values.
Key Themes:
- Confronting digital threats: AI, cyber tools, and information security.
- Geopolitical challenges: Russia’s war aims, Ukraine’s priorities, and Europe’s response.
- Narratives, identity and international affairs: How law, media, and global dynamics shape resistance.
- From war to peace: Lessons from Cyprus and Ukraine.
Featured Contributions:
Opening remarks will be delivered by the Ambassadors of Lithuania and Ukraine, alongside representatives of the Lithuanian community in Cyprus. Experts in cybersecurity, international affairs, anthropology, and journalism will lead discussions on how societies can defend truth and protect freedoms.
Why It Matters:
Civil resistance today is about more than protests — it is about safeguarding truth, protecting identity, and building resilience in everyday life. Cyprus, with its own history of division and reconciliation, offers a unique setting to share lessons with Ukraine, Lithuania and beyond.
Partners & Supporters:
The event is supported by the Global Lithuania Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, UKRCY.news, Strategy International, SiFood Cyprus, Obiimy Cultural Center in Cyprus and Friskas Printing House.
